It that time again

So I needed a change. My hair was a drag. So I decided to chop it off and go a little darker. I've never been this short, but I really like it and Dustin likes it better than any other hairstyle I've had. So there you go. I did this about two weeks ago but I've never posted pictures because I went home to Washington this last weekend and wanted it to be a surprise. The first thing my little brother said to me when I walked in was..."everytime you come home your hair is different." What can I say. Hope you like it!

Finally!!

So Dustin just received the offer he had been hoping for, for his summer internship. Yay! We will be spending the summer in.....drumroll please..... New London Connecticut. Random, I know. The company is called Pfizer and is the largest pharmaceutical company in the world, so needless to say this a great company and will be a great opportunity. The company headquaters is in NYC, but we will be at one the Research and Development location in Connecticut. New London is two hours northeast of NYC and two hours South of Boston and is right on the water. It's a fairly small town with only 26,000 people. Who would of thought we would live in Connecticut?! Oddly enough I've always wanted to go there, I've heard it's beautiful, so I'm very excited. Dustin was pulling for the position in NYC, but we are just excited to get the offer and have the stress of it all off our shoulders. Dustin has been working so hard and going to countless interviews, so this is quite a relief. To throw a curveball into the situation, he has received an offer from Dell in Austin, but hasn't really heard the numbers yet. More than likley we will be in Connecticut for the summer, Dustin is more interested in Pfizer than Dell, so we'll see. Here is a picture of New London. We expect everyone to come and visit!

New Nephew

My sister Steph and her husband Matt had an adorable baby boy on Tuesday. I am so happy to have another nephew. He is such a cutie pie. I'm flying to Seattle next week to see him and I can't wait. Steph went through a not so fun labor, so I'm glad that she is recooperating nicely and that Steph and Hayden are healthy. Congrats Steph and Matt, we are so happy for you!

The big 2-6

Happy Birthday Dustin!! Yesturday Dustin turned 26, he's getting up there! I started his birthday off with a big breakfast (which i got up at 6:45 to make on my day off, thank you very much). Then Dustin headed to school for a full day of classes and interviews. Later we went out to dinner and tried a new restaurant that was okay but not worth the money unfortunately. Then the rest of the night was very low key with just the two of us. I made his favorite cake- funfetti cake with funfetti frosting, go figure! I can't complain when all he wants is a cake from a box, I guess I can manage that. A big thanks to all our family who sent Dustin birthday cards and gifts. Thank you thank you! Happy Birthday Dustin, I love you!!

Don't worry, we are still alive

Okay I know I haven't blogged in...umm...17 days. But Dustin has been so busy with school the last few weeks we haven't really done anything too interesting. The only thing out of the ordinary is that it has been colder than cold here with around zero degree wind chills. Not fun. So we are just trying to keep warm here in Michigan.
This weekend Dustin was involved in a "Case Competition" at MSU. It's where they give you an in depth case study and teams have 24 hours to analyze it and make a presentation in front of judges. Dustin's team worked really hard on it. He didn't get home from preparing for it with his team until 2:30 in the morning on Saturday. So they presented 9am Saturday morning and made it to the finals Saturday afternoon where they took 2nd place out of 20 teams! But of course Dustin wasn't completely satisfied, he wanted to be 1st! Oh well. Anyways I was really proud of him and all his hard work.

The End is Near

I'm not ready for Dustin to start school again. I love the no homework, no meetings, no classes days we have been having for the last two and a half weeks. I love him being home all the time. But as of Monday it's back to reality again, back to the hectic schedule, and spending about half the time together as we have over Christmas break. I'm not excited, but I think Dustin might be getting a little restless this last week while I've been at work. I think he's excited to go back just for the enjoyment of getting one more semester done. After that 2 more to go!! His first semester flew right by us and we are both hoping that's the case for this next semester. But with the end of Christmas break and the end of the holidays comes an excitement of what's ahead. Work, school and finding out where we will be living this summer. We hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday as we have had! Now all I have to do is take down the Christmas decorations!

"I want to wash my hands, my face and hair in snow"

So it's been snowing here lately..a lot. The night after we took these pictures it snowed probably another 4 inches. I love the snow but I didn't love the thermometer reading one degree this morning when I left for work. Burrr...
