Mexico City

We spent the day climbing ancient pyramids in Mexico.

He did it!

Dustin graduated with his Masters on Friday and we couldn't be prouder. He has worked so hard the last 2 years with countless hours of studying, group projects, meetings, interview, etc., etc. His parents were able to come up for the occasion and celebrate with us. We went to a great ceremony for all the MBA students were Dustin was acknowledged for being in the top 20 percent of his class (Betta Gamma Sigma). I couldn't be prouder. Not only did he finish and withstand numerous obstacles but he got awesome grades at the same time. It was a great day that we will always remember and a great closing to our time here in Michigan.

Found a place!

What's with the Chick-fil-a's and Waffle Houses on every corner in GA, literally. 

I haven't eaten at either so I can't make a statement if this is necessary of not.  

I guess we will find out when we move down there.  

PS Week one was a success, we found a great apartment! 

That was the hard part, so now we can relax a little. New home Newnan, GA. 

We will be spending a lot of time in one of these the next few weeks...

May agenda:

Week one(starting tomorrow): Fly to Atlanta to look for housing, come home, Dustin's parents come in from Missouri, Dustin graduates, next day drive back down to Missouri with Dustin's parents

Week 2: Stay a few days in Missouri with with Sherwood fam, fly to Seattle to spend a week with the Rockwood fam

Week 3: Fly to Mexico City from Seattle to visit Josh and Amanda Sherwood, (that is if the swine flew doesn't get worse!) We are crossing our fingers that it doesn't.

Week 4: Fly home to MI from Mexico, and make the final drive to Atlanta. (At least we don't have to pack our things and move them, Delta does all that for us! woohoo!)

It will be a busy month, but soooo fun!

The end is near

Dustin finished his finals today, and I went to the last mutual activity before we go out of town and then move to GA.  Dustin and I both had to say some goodbyes today and it was very bittersweet.  I'm happy to leave the Michigan cold, but will definitely miss those we have met here. Many more goodbyes to come.

Nothing is better than white roses in the morning.  Thanks Dustin!  Here's to many more years to come!

Atlanta Here We Come!

Dustin and I are officially moving to Atlanta, Georgia. Dustin will be working for Delta Airlines in their Supply Chain MBA Leadership Program. We are both very excited and can't wait for the new adventure. Dustin has had the offer since last fall but wanted to explore other opportunities. The past few months he's had a bunch of interviews and a few companies gave him verbal offers but they couldn't committ to actual offers due to hiring freezes. With the economy the way it is, we are truly blessed to say that we have a solid job lined up. Working with Delta will give Dustin and me the chance to fly for free and see the world. We both love to travel and are excited for this opportunity.

A few random facts about Atlanta.

1. Atlanta is the 8th largest metropolitan area in the US; it's crazy to think that Seattle is 15th on the list

2. Atlanta hosted the premiere of Gone With the Wind in 1939

3. In the 60's Atlanta was a major organizing center for MLK

4. Average high in January is 52 deg

5. 13th highest number of foreign tourists per year

6. Home to CNN News

We don't know much about Atlanta so here are a few things we have heard (from Dustin's classmate that is from Atlanta) that are a must see.

1. Georgia Aquarium

2. The World of Coca-Cola

3. The Master's - not on my list but I'm sure Dustin will go since it's only 2.5 hours away

4. Centennial Olympic Park - created for the 1996 Olymplics

5. Sports - Braves, Falcons, Hawks and Thrashers

That's all I know about Atlanta as of today. We look forward to our new adventure in Atlanta and look forward to hosting visitors.
