6 months

Well 6 is the theme of the week it seems.
Stella is 6 months today.

Just a few 6 month info.
  • I don't have her stats yet, we have her Dr. appointment tomorrow. I think she is around 15-16 pounds though.
  • Her eyes are blue and the hair that she does have is dark blond as of now
  • She is really mobile and will scoot all over the place and has made some crawling steps. She sits up, but her balance isn't quite there yet and she will topple over eventually
  • She slept through the night last night for the first time! This is big news folks.  And lets all knock on wood!
  • She still loves looking at herself in the mirror and will instantly smile
  • She is so good in the car, stroller and when I take her on errands.  She is a great tag-a-longer. Let pretend that is a word.
  • She has learned how to spit. A lot.
  • No teeth
  • Eating oatmeal and squash
  • Her strawberry birthmark stopped growing about 2 months ago, and has stayed the same size since
  • Loves her baths, books, and little soft blankie (won't fall asleep without it)
  • She can wiggle out of her Bumbo ( learned that the hard way)
  • Every time I open the door to get her out of the car, and as soon as she sees me, she gives me the biggest smile. I love it.
  • And lots and lots of smiles and giggles.
  • Overall she is such a good little baby. Well, not so little anymore.

6

Six years have come and gone since our rainy Seattle wedding day.  We have lived in 5 states, traveled the world and become parents! It's been pretty amazing.
Saturday we all went to the gym together, came back home, got ready, and then made the drive to outlet mall. Definitely worth the drive.  Then back to Erie to go out to dinner to Pufferbelly's, an old firehouse turned cute restaurant.  May I add this was the very first time we have been on a date just us two since Stella's been born.  It was a little weird at first but it was nice to just be 'us' for a few hours. And she did wonderful at the babysitters.

We took a little stop on the way home for some Romolos chocolates. Dustin-milk chocolate peppermint patties, Me- chocolate covered pretzels.  Worth going off the 'healthy eating' plan for these babies.

Sunday was our actual Anniversary. Our day consisted of church, leaving church after a crazy blowout diaper from the little one, going home to give her a bath and change of clothes, back to church, red box movies, easy dinner, and walk by the Lake.
It was a great weekend.

My partner in crime.  Happy Anniversary to us!

Loser

So weight loss has been on my mind a whole lot lately. Mostly because I was doing a weight loss competition with bunch of girls from church over the last 8 weeks. It just ended on Monday and I loved being a part of it.
In my adult life I have always been a gym person (which I credit to my husband for rubbing off on me). I actually enjoy working out and being active (for the most part). But losing weight after having a baby is no picnic. Especially when said baby doesn't, what you would call, 'sleep'.
I gained a wopping 45 pounds with the little one, which was frustrating in itself because I worked out and ate healthy throughout my pregnancy (when I wasn't sick). But getting back in shape has been a priority for me for a few reasons.

One- we don't want to wait too long to have our next child. So if I gained 45 lbs with my first pregnancy, I can only imagine how ginormous I would get if I got pregnant again at a heavier post baby weight.
Two- since getting married and now having a baby I value my health more than I ever have before. I want to be healthy and fit for my family! Exercising and eating healthy lowers my risk of so many health problems and diseases, so that is a no brainer for me.
And three- who doesn't want to look good in clothes? I see no shame in admitting that. Plus I have a whole stack of pre pregnancy jeans in my closest that are oh-so-close to fitting. And I don't want them to go to waste now. I can zip and button them but they are still giving me a cute little 'muffin top' which is just adorable. Not!
So I am signing up for the next round of the weight loss competition to help me loose the last, and hardest, 8-10 pounds. And I am pumped!
Here is our group at our finale dinner (minus a few who couldn't come) I lost 9 lbs in 8 weeks, and combined our group lost 229 lbs! That's a lot of weight!

Missouri Trip- Picture Overload

We headed down to Missouri this last week for some fun with the Sherwood fam. It's been a few years or so since we have stayed with Dustin's parents so it was very needed.
Dustin's brothers live in Arkansas about an hour and half away from Dustin's parents, and right outside of Bentonville (Walmart headquaters). Walmart puts on a big party/street sale/concert in their cute little historic downtown every first Friday. So we decided to check it out. It was a lot of fun and the weather was beautiful. The picture above is actually the first "Walmart" store called Walton's.
The main reason for our visit was to meet this little guy, and be in attendance for his baby blessing. Kenton is such a little cutie and I just loved holding him. He is so tiny and such a good little baby.
All the Sherwood boys were able to be there which was really fun. It's rare when they are all in the same place at the same time. And I don't thing they could look anymore related. Agree?
I had to take a picture of my SIL Rachelle's yummy blackberry cupcakes. They tasted as good as they looked.
Easter Sunday
My little cutie pie
Stella in her pink bunny outfit that Grandma Rockwood bought her in the hospital giftshop/boutique on the day she was born. And it fit perfectly just for Easter.
After Easter dinner at Dustin's parents we headed over to Dustin's Grandma and Grandpa Sherwoods house for a visit. So glad they got to meet Stella.
We love our nephews!
My mother-in-law conveniently had these bunny ears on hand. Too cute.
Stella loves her Grandparents
Out to lunch on our last day in Missouri. As always the trip went by too fast. We sure had a great time.

And just to document...Stella was an angel baby in the car. She is such a great car traveler. The drive took 13 hours and on the way there we left at Stella's bedtime and drove through the night and she slept the.whole.time. She has never slept like that at night her whole life. I literally had to wake her up to change her diaper. On the way home we left early in the morning, so she still slept a lot, and as long as I had books and toys and songs handy to entertain her she was a happy camper. She was awesome!

5 months

Our little girl is 5 months. Oh boy. It's kind of crazy to say that. She is 13 pounds. Just a little peanut. Poor thing got sick the last few weeks with Brochiolitis, so we have had to do breathing treatments with the nebulizer. But she is all better now. She is getting closer and closer to crawling. She gets up in crawling stance, rocks a little and then falls down. She is loud. Mostly at home. She has the highest pitch little squeal that she does over and over. She smiles and giggles all the time, and loves to be held all the time as well She is not a good sleeper. At all. Short, infrequent naps during the day and up every 2 hours or so at night. We have tried everything, and have become permanent zombies. She loves baths and books and chewing on anything and everything. But her fingers are her favorite.
