Our little girl is 5 months. Oh boy. It's kind of crazy to say that.
She is 13 pounds. Just a little peanut.
Poor thing got sick the last few weeks with Brochiolitis, so we have had to do breathing treatments with the nebulizer. But she is all better now.
She is getting closer and closer to crawling. She gets up in crawling stance, rocks a little and then falls down.
She is loud. Mostly at home. She has the highest pitch little squeal that she does over and over.
She smiles and giggles all the time, and loves to be held all the time as well
She is not a good sleeper. At all. Short, infrequent naps during the day and up every 2 hours or so at night. We have tried everything, and have become permanent zombies.
She loves baths and books and chewing on anything and everything. But her fingers are her favorite.
Hang in there with the sleeping thing. It took a long time for Miles to get the hang of it, too. Actually, when he was 5 months his routine was quite similar to Stella's. So, speaking from experience here. :)
His naps gradually got longer instead of short catnaps, and he gradually started sleeping for longer stretches. You'll start figuring out when the optimal time is to put her down for naps and at night.
And just in case you're feeling like a failure, DON'T! I remember feeling like I was doing something "wrong." I think it's a big myth that "everyone's baby is a good sleeper but ours." She's not a good sleeper or a bad sleeper, she just hasn't found her rhythm. And she'll find it.
Around 6 months we started sleep training with Miles, but even that didn't last for our little guy because there was always something (teething, ear infection, etc.) that would disrupt it. My unsolicited advice is to trust your instincts and don't be too hard on yourself because of her sleep patterns. Trust me, it WILL get better.
