Roosevelt's Little White House

Franklin Roosevelt built a home in Warm Springs, Georgia back in the 30's where they now have a FDR museum. They built a pool over the natural warm springs in the town because it was thought to "cure" FDR's polio. The pool is still in tact today but only filled and opened to the public twice a year to preserve it.
Could you imagine your husband wearing a swimsuit like this? I thought it was too funny.
One of his old cars. Because of his paralysis it was equipped with hand brake and gas controls for FDR.
The Little White House
FDR's TP from the 30's, still on the roll.
Another one of his cars, that he actually never drove.
While posing for a painted portrait in The Little White House, FDR collapsed and died shortly after in his bedroom in the home. This is the "unfinished portrait".
The warm springs pool, used not only for FDR but for many others as polio therapy. There is now a large modern rehab facility in Warm Springs for people with a variety of diseases from all around the world.

Before and After

So I finally got around to painting our downstairs half bath a few weeks ago. The bright yellow was giving me a headache every time I looked at it, so it had to go. The before pictures don't even do it justice because it was more neon yellow in person ( and with a flowery border at the ceiling), classy.

One More Wedding Post

Between Dustin and I we had 3 siblings getting married this summer! This last weekend we headed to St. Louis for the 3rd and final wedding of Dustin's younger brother DJ and his new wife Danielle. We are so happy for the 2 of them and we had a great weekend with the Dustin's family.
The night before the wedding we headed out to a nice dinner with DJ, Dustin's parents and Dustin's brother Josh. It was an all you can eat Brazilian Steakhouse, and it was so yummy. We all loved the cooked pineapple!
Joni and Pete with their baby boy DJ.
The day of the wedding was beautifully sunny and hot as can be.
One of our many adorable nephews
...and another
After the wedding we headed to a wonderful luncheon at the cheesecake factory.
I helped my sister in law Rachelle with some of the goodies for the reception as well as the wedding cake that turned out beautiful and tasted delicious. It was a great day and a great summer of weddings!

Washington Weekend/ Chase and Ali's Reception

I was able to go home to Seattle this weekend to see my family and go to my brother Chase and his new wife Alison's wedding reception. The party was so fun with perfect weather and great food. The Happy couple
Could I have a cuter niece?!
The food was so yummy. Gourmet burgers with every kind of topping. I put bacon, sauteed onions, and sun dried tomato aioli on mine. It was delish. We also had root beer on tap in a keg. Let just say I drank way too much root beer the whole weekend.
My grandma came up from Salt Lake. It was so fun to spend time with her.
The whole fam! We missed Erin and Jake in Hawaii and Dustin who had to stay back in Atl for work.
I loved spending time with Lucy and Hayden. They are so adorable, we spent the whole weekend laughing at all the funny things they do.
We went to downtown Enumclaw for some teriyaki (naturally) and ice cream.
Swimming at Aunt Jeri and Uncle Alans.
It was such a fun weekend. Hopefully it won't be too long until I can go visit again. My mom is coming to visit in 2 weeks so that will definitely be something to look forward to.
