Madrid Day 2

Saturday we spent a few hours at the Parque de Madrid. Kind of like the Central Park of Madrid. It is so big and beautiful.
Out to dinner the last night we were there at this cute little outdoor cafe. We went at 7pm and although the place was packed we were the only ones eating. People in Madrid don't eat dinner until 10 at night. I think we stood out like a sore thumb as American tourist who just wanted their food as opposed to everyone else who were just drinking, smoking and talking for hours.

Madrid Day One

We ended up going to Madrid for Labor Day. The flights were open and we couldn't pass it up. This was the first time Dustin or I had been to Europe so we just ate it all up. We got into Madrid on Friday morning and left Sunday morning. So it was a quick trip but we got a lot in.
Madrid is absolutely beautiful. The architecture was our favorite part. It's so historic and detailed. You don't see a lot of buildings like that in the US. It's a very clean city with beautiful landscaping and fountains at every corner. There are workers constantly sweeping the streets and side walks and everyone is very well dressed; you don't see a lot of people wearing jeans and t-shirts. We felt under dressed most of time. And for not knowing the language we got around pretty well. We had a fabulous time and loved our first trip to Europe.
In front of the Royal Palace. It had over 2,800 rooms.
One of my favorite buildings
We went on one of the tour buses that went throughout the whole city.
One of the many many fountains
This is us on the tour bus again at night. It was so fun to see the city lit up at night and to cool off after a long hot day.

And I can't mention our trip without the amazing experience of flying first class on an international flight. We had huge recliners with hotel like down pillows and comforters, and food galore. 4 courses consisting of shrimp and salmon and fillet mignon, desserts, fresh baked cookies etc, etc. The flight was about 8 hours and went by pretty fast. With food, endless movies, and comfortable sleeping we almost didn't want to get off the flight. (Okay that might be stretching it a little bit). We sure got spoiled though.Yep, that's how I roll

All the leg room Dustin could want.

We were happy campers!

Our Place

I've been telling my family for months now that I would post pics of our place so they could see where we lived. I'm a little behind but better late than never. So here's some pictures for the fam.
